DSC_0905 copy.JPG Hi, I'm JJ

i believe that hard work and persistence in film-making, provides the opportunity to leave behind something greater than yourself.

i believe the most important thing in my life and the most important influence that i have in this world is not my ability to mess around with a camera, but it's about who i am as a person.

my passion is to tell stories that inspire others and i believe in the simple premise that storytelling changes the world.

my blog is like a journal where I post all of my recent work and create conversation around storytelling, so check back often and see what I've been up to.

I guess it all started for me in the 6th grade. My friends and I would ride around town on our bikes shooting varies short films and stunt videos. Despite not knowing anything about my parents HI-8 video camera, I almost always found myself trying to figure out the next "greatest" shot. Although our videos were of us jumping off buildings, or riding our bikes off what we thought were "sick jumps", I found myself captivated by the idea of telling a story.

Throughout high school I was involved in my schools television production class, where I spent most of my time putting together packages and reporting on stuff that I didn't really care about. I frequently would get told that my packages contained shots that were better fit for an experimental short film rather than the news.

I came to college planning on becoming a news anchor. Little did I know, but my fascination with telling stories continued to grow and I quickly found myself not wanting to be in front of a camera. I wanted to tell stories.

And that leaves us to where I am now. I'm currently a senior in college at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California and plan on continuing to tell stories after I graduate. I'm someone who believes deeply in the power of telling stories and the ability that stories have to give us a glimpse into something beyond ourselves. So welcome to my site, I hope you like it. If you have any questions or would like talk about a potential project feel free to contact me.
